I can’t believe Festive Hotel boasts a 5 star rating when it’s worst than a 3 star hotel. My family and I had a 3D2N staycation that was completely ruined by this atrocious hotel. I can’t believe this is standard of a 5 star hotel in Singapore, a country known for high standards. These are just some of the things that were unacceptable and from reading the reviews other guests have had similar complains over the years and it seems nothing has been done about it.
1. Terrible check in. Upon arrival, porter shoves trolley at us and tells us to bring the bags up ourselves. Check in staff are not welcoming at all and hardly smile.
2. We took a joint famil room with my in-laws. The pictures they post online and reality are light years apart. The hallways are carpetted and smells really bad. The room has very poor lighting. The smart phone provided that they boast about did not work and even after numerous calls to front desk nobody came to fix it. The vinyl floors are grimy, dusty and the corners had cobwebs. I took a tissue to wipe the floors and the tissue became black. We had to wear bathroom slippers in the room. Being a family room one would expect it to be kept clean for the well being of children but no, the room was filthy. We were concerned as we have a 3 year old and a 5 month old infant. The shower curtains are moldy and mold is a health hazard. There is no bidet in the toilet either. How can a 5 star hotel not have a bidet?
3. Too any non English speaking staff. One would think that a 5 star hotel would hire staff who can speak English but no. Many are from China and are not able to converse in English or understand what you say.
4. There is no restaurant, no gym, not a festive mood whatsoever. The pool is lifeless.
5. This hotel is at best a 2.5 star yet charges 5 star rates. A 5 star hotel would not give anyone a reason to complain but this hotel seems hellbent on making your stay at unfestive as possible.
PLEASE AVOID STAYING AT FESTIVE HOTEL!
